Assigned to the IPS (Intensive Probation Supervision) unit. Completed eligibility investigations to evaluate rehabilitation potential of high-risk offenders and made recommendations to judges regarding fitness to enter the program. Developed supervision plans requiring five face-to-face contacts per week, and motor vehicle and residence searches. Appeared in court as needed to present expert witness testimony on gang identification and activity. Worked with the Gang Intervention Unit since its inception, and played an integral role in the development of the unit. Formerly in charge of a caseload of street gang members countywide as a Gang Specialist.
Previously responsible for the supervision of street gang members in the 11th (Filmore) Chicago Police District. Worked directly with Chicago Police Department Gang Tactical Officers on a suppression team conducting residence searches and hot spot missions as part of the Police Probation Partnership Program. Formerly assigned as the Probation Department's Field Services Training Specialist for all weapon carrying units. Responsible for arranging and conducting all training for all weapon-carrying officers. Duties included ammunition research and ordering, control tactics equipment research and ordering,
